1.1 Nightly Opera Streams

As part of the containment of Coronavirus spread, all the entertainment-related facilities in New York City have been temporarily closed since March 12, 2020. The Metropolitan Opera House is one of such facilities.

I noticed that they have been offering free opera streaming since the temporary closure had started. Each day, performance becomes available from 7:30 p.m. EDT for 23 hours, i.e., until 6:30 p.m. of the following day.

The streaming is available through not only Met Opera’s website, but also smartphone, tablet, Roku devices and smart TVs. Downloading “Met Opera on Demand” app is required in case of the latter. Please see the below website for the details.

1.2(Reference)Price for unlimited Streaming of “Met Opera on Demand”

By the way, under regular circumstances, streaming of Met Opera on demand is a paid service, and we are supposed to either rent ($4.99 per title) or subscribe to start viewing available titles. Subscriber can view all the available titles but it costs $14.99/month or $149.99/year.

2. Dates and titles of the Operas which are Available for Free Streaming

Below is a list of dates and titles of the operas which were chosen to be streamed each day. Schedule has been updated every week (around mid-week). So, I will update this list when additional schedule become available.
